About the site

Glenbrook is a co-generation plant located at Glenbrook, south of Auckland, New Zealand. The Glenbrook Power Station is fully integrated into the New Zealand Steel’s ironmaking plant, supplying around 60% of their electricity requirements.

Waste heat and byproduct gases from the ironmaking plant are used to generate steam and electricity. Since this partnership reduces the electricity imported from New Zealand electricity grid, it displaces electricity generated at the margin including fossil fuelled power stations – thereby reducing carbon emissions.

Your part in it

Collaborate with the Maintenance Team to develop and implement the maintenance program for Glenbrook Power Station. The key focus of the role will be on best practice health and safety practices, carrying out electrical maintenance activities to ensure reliable supply of steam and electricity to New Zealand steel.

What you’ll put into it

• Providing preventative and corrective maintenance, job plans safe systems of work and relevant permits.
• Execution of the condition-based maintenance program, including reporting on equipment condition with remedial actions.
• Ensuring that all maintenance data is documented, completed, and any issues are identified.
• Promptly investigating faults in plant and equipment, including the provision of callout support when required.
• Actively participate and contribute to a productive and efficient team.

What you’ll bring to it

• Have an Electrical Trade Registration and current practising license.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and procedures.
• Be a strong problem-solver to enable resolutions on administrative, operational or maintenance issues
• Knowledgeable in Strategy-Based Maintenance principles, Condition Monitoring practices and Quality Management Systems.
• Experience with computerised maintenance management systems is desirable.
